New Delhi [India], May 8 (ANI): Former Diplomat KP Fabian on Thursday praised Operation Sindoor, conducted by the Indian Armed Forces against Pakistan, terming it a “well-calibrated” operation.
Speaking to ANI, Fabian said that the attacks were carried out without entering Pakistani airspace, which was not the case earlier after the Pulwama attack. He said that the reach of attack from the Indian side has been much farther, which is significant from a military point of view.
“It was a well-calibrated operation. After the Pulwama attack, our aircraft had to go into the Pakistani airspace. This time, we have retaliated without getting into the Pakistani airspace. Our reach has also been much farther compared to Uri or Pulwama… From a military point of view, it is significant,” he said.
The Former Diplomat also mentioned that Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif promised retaliation following the launch of Operation Sindoor since he doesn’t want to be seen as helpless.
“After all, he has a constituency. He doesn’t want to be seen as helpless, especially after the flawless Operation Sindoor. At the same time, Pakistan finds itself in a dilemma of whether to retaliate, if so, how to retaliate, because there was another report of him saying earlier that we have already retaliated. But that was an enigmatic statement. He was probably referring to unverified claims about having shot down the Indian planes,” Fabian said.
Speaking on the statement made by US President Donald Trump, where he said that he has good relations with both India and Pakistan, Fabian asserted that Trump doesn’t want another big war in South Asia.
“President Trump doesn’t like wars. He had promised to end the Ukraine war earlier. For him, he doesn’t want another big war in South Asia when he is President,” he added.
Fabian further said, “China is an ally of Pakistan… The Chinese media would naturally put out stories, whether true or not, to portray Pakistan in a good light. So our embassy did the correct thing, telling them to cross-check before putting out stories relating to India.”
Indian forces conducted the precise strikes on nine terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir under Operation Sindoor on Wednesday.
The strikes were aimed at avenging the victims of the Pahalgam attack and eliminating key Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders and camps involved in planning attacks on Indian soil. (ANI)
